Wearable technology is about to get a whole lot more sustainable. I’m working on a concept that involves photovoltaic textiles—essentially, fabrics that generate electricity from sunlight. Imagine a smartwatch or fitness tracker that never needs charging because the band itself is constantly collecting solar energy. By embedding flexible solar cells into the material, we can create wearables that are both functional and energy-efficient. This could be particularly useful for outdoor enthusiasts or in regions with limited access to electricity. The main challenge lies in maximizing the efficiency of these solar cells while keeping them lightweight and flexible.
