With quantum computers on the horizon, current encryption methods could soon become obsolete. Quantum cryptography offers an alternative by utilizing the principles of quantum mechanics to create theoretically unbreakable encryption. By sending encrypted messages using quantum bits (qubits), any attempt at interception would disrupt the message itself, alerting both sender and receiver. Implementing this technology now could future-proof critical data infrastructures against upcoming cybersecurity threats.
