Neural Prosthetics with AI-Enhanced Motor Control

Neural prosthetics have already made strides in helping amputees, but I believe we can take it further by integrating AI for more precise motor control. Using machine learning algorithms like reinforcement learning, these prosthetics could adapt to the user’s movements over time, providing a more natural range of motion. By incorporating sensors that detect muscle signals (EMG) and using neural networks to translate these signals into movement commands, the prosthetic could learn how to better respond to the user’s intent. This could dramatically improve the quality of life for amputees, making their prosthetics feel like a natural extension of their body.
