Drones are being used for everything from agriculture to security, but most rely on cloud processing for data analysis, which introduces latency. My idea is to develop an edge AI solution that allows drones to process data in real-time, directly on the device. By using lightweight convolutional neural networks (CNNs) optimized for edge computing, the drone could analyze video feeds, detect objects, or even navigate through complex environments without relying on an internet connection. This would be especially useful for applications like search and rescue operations, where immediate data processing could save lives. The system could also use federated learning to update its models based on new data while maintaining privacy and security. The biggest challenge is balancing computational power with battery life, but advances in low-power AI chips could make this feasible. The result would be autonomous drones that are faster, more responsive, and capable of operating in remote areas without network connectivity.
