I’ve been thinking a lot about the housing crisis and how 3D printing could be part of the solution. The idea is to use large-scale additive manufacturing machines with advanced materials like geopolymer concrete to print homes in layers. By combining AI algorithms for design optimization and robotic automation, we can drastically cut construction costs and time. The beauty of this is that we can create customizable designs on the fly, enabling on-demand housing solutions in disaster-stricken or low-income areas. Integrating renewable energy sources into the design, such as solar panel roofs, could further enhance the sustainability of these structures.
